Amanda Boog Cruser

Amanda Cruser is a Partner at Anderson & Jahde, P.C.  She focuses her practice on representing taxpayers in IRS examinations, Tax Court cases, IRS and State collection cases, innocent spouse cases, sales and use tax audits, and criminal tax investigations.   She has also offered expert opinions on tax matters as they relate to dissolution of marriage cases and business disputes.

Amanda is an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant.  She received her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Trinity University in 1994 and received her law degree from the University of Denver in 1998.  She began her law career in the U.S. Department of Justice Honor’s Program where she was assigned to the Western Criminal Enforcement Section of the Tax Division.  In her role as a criminal tax trial attorney, she reviewed and authorized federal tax cases for prosecution and served as a prosecuting tax attorney around the country.  In 2003, she received The John Marshall Award for Trial of Litigation from Attorney General John Ashcroft.

Amanda has worked in private practice since 2004, formerly practicing tax controversy law and business and land use litigation with her father Victor Boog at the firm Boog & Cruser, P.C.  After her father’s retirement, she joined Anderson & Jahde, P.C. to focus on her tax controversy practice.  She brings two decades worth of experience in representing taxpayers before the IRS, state and municipal taxing authorities as well as representing clients before the U.S. Tax Court and Federal District Court.

She is member of the First Judicial District Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association.  She has served in the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law Mentor Program for more than a decade, and Co-Chaired the First Judicial District’s Colorado High School Mock Trial Competition for many years before stepping down to coach Mock Trial at Chatfield Senior High School.  She also teaches continuing education courses on a variety of tax controversy topics to CPA’s through CPE4U.
